Eye Brows Lifting

It is technically known as pexia eyebrows, and it is the procedure that consists of bringing them to their ideal position when they fall. In men, it is usually located at the level of the orbital rim, while in women, it is located approximately 1 cm above the bone.
Remember that over time, the eyebrows and especially the outer edge, tend to descend by the effect of gravity and muscular action, giving the appearance of an opaque look with expression of sadness or fatigue, and where thanks to this surgery that we are able to recover the natural harmony of the brows, being able to combine perfectly with other techniques such as blepharoplasty and thus achieving even better results.

Are You a Good Candidate?

Regardless of gender and age, if you enjoy a good general health but have fallen eyebrows, you can consider yourself a person with indication to perform the surgery. In relation to age, no ideal or requirement is needed to undergo the operation as even young people can do it for they may have inherited the same situation from their parents and those living a lifestyle that leads to sagging eyebrows thus giving the the eyes an aged appearance.

Anesthesia and Surgical Times

On average, the duration of the surgery is 1 hour, and it is performed under local anesthesia and sedation carried out by an anesthesiologist.

Incisions and Scars

There are several ways in which this procedure can be performed, either by a small incision at the level of the scalp or through a cut made in the groove of the upper eyelid, taking advantage of the same approach is performing a blepharoplasty jointly.
Whatever the approach the scars are practically invisible as they are hidden in natural folds of the skin or with the surrounding hair.

Hospitalization Time

This surgery is managed on an outpatient basis, and can be discharged once the residual effects of the anesthesia have passed, typically 3-6 hours later.

Postoperative Care

The person should plan to stay in bed with the head elevated during the first day and then to rest relatively. Always try to remain in semi-fowler’s position and avoid lowering the head. Take the prescribed drugs as directed, eat normally according to tolerance and ingest abundant liquids.
We recommend the constant placement of cold dressings on the eyebrows and forehead to reduce inflammation and bruising, to make daily cleaning of the wound, to avoid being exposed to the sun for about 6 weeks, and use of sunscreens for 3 months.
Strong activities should be avoided for at least the first 15 days after surgery.

Recovery and Time

This period implies that our patient must maintain a bandage for the first 24 hours that will keep the forehead covered, which will be removed until the next day, after which it will be re-evaluated in few days, at which point all the sutures will be removed.
We can say then that the eyebrow pexia has an average of 7 days recovery time. Patients can return to their daily activities one week after the procedure, while the initial swelling and bruising take a week or two to recover.

Risks

Following up our patient adequately both before and after the procedure with proper instructions and indications, the risks and complications are infrequent, and if they occur, they are minor, possible to mention bleeding, bruising, infection or even scar alterations.

Botox injections are performed in a medical office or a cosmetic clinic. The skin is cleansed, and a local anesthetic or ice may be applied to minimize any discomfort. Using a very fine needle, Botox is injected into specific muscles in precise locations. The procedure typically takes only a few minutes, and there is minimal downtime or recovery involved.

The effects of Botox injections are not immediate but gradually appear over a few days to a week. The muscles become less active, and the wrinkles in the treated areas gradually smooth out. The results typically last around 3 to 4 months, but this can vary depending on individual factors, the dose administered, and the specific treatment area.
